Scholarships to Attend
The registration cost for producers to attend the Pennsylvania Dairy Summit is offset by a grant from the Department of Labor and Industry's Workforce Investment Board. In addition to that discount, young producers and students enrolled in agriculture degree programs have the opportunity to apply for scholarships to attend.
The Pennsylvania Dairymen's Association and the Center for Dairy Excellence offer a limited number of scholarships to attend the summit each year in February. Applicants must be between the ages of 17 - 25 as of 02/01/2014 and must currently operate a dairy farm or be enrolled in an agricultural degree program and a college or trade school. Applicants must be residents of Pennsylvania or enrolled in college in Pennsylvania.
The scholarship covers $75 of the $100 Dairy Summit registration, along with hotel costs for up to two nights of lodging. Applicants are responsible for the remaining $25 registration cost. Information on 2014 scholarship opportunities will be announced in October.
